Animals After Dark

The last Saturday of every other month. 6:30pm-10:00pm
(January-March-May-July-September) 

(Ages 5-8)

We begin at 6:30pm with gathering together and playing with a few animals until all kids have arrived and been signed in by a parent/guardian.  Then we get out lots of animals and play with them, pet them, hold them, and learn about them.  We spend time in every department of the store!

For dinner, we walk over to Wheat State Pizza, order our food, wash up, eat, and end with popsicle treats for dessert.  After dinner we return to Pet World and help put the animals to bed.  Then, we get ourselves ready for bed, taking a rest room break and changing into our pajamas unless we're already wearing them! (Optional, but preferred by most -- even the adults!)

When everyone is ready and the store is all closed, we lock up and pass out the flashlights.  Next it is lights out and time to explore!  Armed with our flashlights we venture out into the store to see what the animals do while everyone else is sleeping.  We play games and explore all the secret places at Pet World where no one else can go!

Near the end of the program, we turn on the lights and bring the kids to the front door for parent pick up at 10pm.  The kids will be tired and ready for bed!

Pet World in the P.M.

The last Saturday of every other month. 6:30pm-10:00pm
(February-April-June-August-November) 

(Ages 9-12)

Designed just like Animals After Dark except for olders kids! During AAD we focus on learning about a variety of animals in biggers groups, while during Pet World in the P.M. the kids are given much more freedom to spend more time with the animal (or animals) they're most interested in. They'll be given a half an hour with the animal(s) they choose and will not only be learning about and handling that animal but they'll be learning the care it requires before the lights go out!

We will also get out some of the creepier critters at Pet World (tarantulas, scorpions, hissing cockroaches, etc.) and anyone who wants to can even learn how to feed a snake. Then it's lights out and time to explore!  Armed with our flashlights we will venture out into the store to see what the animals do while everyone else is sleeping.  We’ll play games and explore all the secret places at Pet World where no one else can go, much like in AAD!

Whenever possible please print on both sides of recycled paper.

Pet World's Educational and Kids' Program staff are all trained professionals with years of experience working with children and animals. All are extensively trained in child development, teaching and coaching; First Aid, Rescue, and CPR certified; and background checked.

Pet World's Kids' Programs maintain adult-to-child ratios between 1:3 and 1:6 at all times.
